We are one of the only culturally-sensitive emergency shelters in Alabama, and we're a 501(c)(3) organization.
Our mission is to help any foreign-born individual dealing with crises, such as domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking, by providing specific culturally-sensitive services.
Our vision is to build bridges in the community by educating, empathizing, and empowering foreign-born individuals experiencing crises.
Our Service to the Community
Direct Service Staff
While our Direct Service staff must remain anonymous to protect their confidentiality, we want to recognize their hard work for being an integral part of AshaKiran. Their professional skills in social work, counseling, and client advocacy—that is both trauma-informed and culturally sensitive—is why they are the heart of our organization. They make meaningful impacts on our clients’ lives, and we thank them for all they contribute to the community.
