AshaKiran, Inc.
AshaKiran, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing crisis support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking since 2006. Our vision is to be
"A Ray of Hope" to survivors of these crimes. We offer a 24-hour crisis line, called the "AshaLine", for those needing confidential, safe, and culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
We promote cultural awareness through presentations to the community, victim service providers, first responders, law enforcement, government agencies, and more.
We provide trauma informed training for interpreters and language service providers.
Here at AshaKiran, Inc., we see the value in everyone. We strive to serve as a catalyst for positive change. Since our beginnings in 2006, we’ve been driven by the same ideals that we were founded upon: support, empowerment and progress.
Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. AshaKiran, Inc. emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.
Our Mission
To address crises such as domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking in the foreign-born and other underserved communities, by offering culturally sensitive services and providing education to enhance understanding of cultural barriers.
Our Vision
AshaKiran envisionsaspires to be "A Ray of Hope" by bridging the gap between service providers and culturally diverse communities.
What makes it all worth it?
I believe in the interconnectedness of humanity and the innate equality of humankind.
I believe civil and human rights are dignities due to all.
I believe in the right to a life free of injustice, violence, and oppression.
I believe in the mission and vision of AshaKiran, to bridge divides and promote hope.
I believe it is all worthwhile because when we offer help despite differences, we subdue discrimination.
When we extend respect for all cultures, we diminish prejudice.
When we promote awareness, we oppose inequality.
When we celebrate diversity, we combat the biases that divide and ignite the wisdom
that unites.
When we each do our part, to keep “A Ray of Hope” alive, we make our world a better place.
