We are a nonprofit organization that provides culturally sensitive services to victims of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking across the state of Alabama.
JOB PURPOSE: Supervises the evening operations of the shelter program to assure the safe, secure, and smooth operation of the shelter.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintains the highest level of confidentiality pertaining to all aspects of the position
· Takes appropriate actions for the supervision of the safety, security, and wellbeing of the shelter residents
· Maintains shelter operations, include orderliness and cleanliness, within general operational guidelines
· Answers 24-hour crisis line, assesses situation, provides supportive counseling, information and referrals and resolves call appropriately
· Responds to all emergencies, such as police, fire, and medical, notifying the Shelter Coordinator as appropriate
· Encourages cooperation among shelter residents and handles minor disputes and problems of residents as it relates to shelter living
· Maintains data and completes proper reporting procedures
· Interacts with shelter residents either individually or in a group setting
· Maintains a supportive atmosphere at the shelter
· Provides appropriate language and culturally sensitive case management and supportive counseling to shelter clients, concentrating on those residents that work during the day
· Provides shelter residents with transportation and appropriate accompaniment when needed
· Reports pertinent information to next shift
· Attends mandatory staff meetings
· Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Demonstrate knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault and community resources
· Possess basic computer skills
· Practice good, non-judgmental listening skills
· Perform role with regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness
· Ability to relate effectively to community resource representatives and the client population.
· Ability to be calm, responsible, and self-motivated
· Ability to use discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· High school degree/G.E.D required; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or related human service field preferred.
· Valid driver's license and good driving record with the ability to be insured by the organization’s auto insurance provider to drive the organization’s passenger van.

BILINGUAL (SPANISH) CASE MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: Operations (Direct or Client Services)
SUPERVISOR: Shelter Coordinator
STATUS: Full-Time / Non-Exempt

LOCATION: Direct Services Location(s) - Confidential
HOURS/SCHEDULE: Flexible schedule based on agency priorities.
JOB PURPOSE: Provides confidential, trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically appropriate case management to AshaKiran’s clients.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists clients in every aspect of their individualized care plans
- Maintains up-to-date files on individual clients, activities, intakes, and exits
- Assures active progression and achievement of outlined case management goals and related achievements
- Provides residents with supportive services and available community resources
- Conducts intakes, assigns bed space, performs orientation, explains rules and responsibilities, and issues personal needs items
- Conducts exit interview, completes exit forms, and supervises resident’s exit during shift
- Responds to all emergencies in accordance with SafeHome procedures
- Provides shelter residents with transportation and appropriate language and culturally sensitive accompaniment
- Reports items in need of repair, replacement, or purchase
- Maintains data as needed for reports required by funding sources
- Conducts daily SafeHome duties as outlined and/or assigned by Shelter Coordinator
- Perform other duties as assigned that promote AshaKiran’s vision, mission, and best practices
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. May be requested to direct volunteer or intern activities.

Full Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
Provides agency accounting, grant monitoring, and coordination of all AshaKiran financial activities
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fiscal
- Monitors program income and revenues according to the fiscal policies of the agency as adopted by the Board of Directors under direction and assistance of the Financial Officer
- Handles the recording and monitoring of incurred expenses; including automated renewals
- Prepares expense vouchers and checks for approval and disbursement in a timely manner
- Prepares agency bank accounts and purchase cards for monthly independent reconciliation
- Maintains appropriate accounting procedures for the agency’s purchase card(s) activity and makes information ready for monthly reconciliation
- Assists in the development of the agency's budget, grant budgets and the preparation of revisions and forecasts.
Regulatory
- Provides information, records, and assistance as required by AshaKiran’s independent financial auditor
- Responsible for the information prepared, submitted, and questioned as a part of all financial audits or stakeholder requests
- Document and maintain a master list of financial files in accordance with AshaKiran's retention policy
- Files documents, physical and electronic, according to the master list of AshaKiran's financial files
Grants
- Prepares financial deliverables to the requesting grant agencies throughout the grant's life cycle
- Submits reimbursement requests or associated invoices to funding sources
- Prepares required fiscal reports to funding sources required by the funding source
- Maintains all financial allocation schedules
Programmatic
- Conducts financial orientation for new employees, including payroll and grant-related reporting
- Maintains and updates employee benefit information
- Processes agency payroll
- Prepares and disseminates fiscal information to appropriate agency personnel in the management of funds allotted for various programs
- Prepares the Treasures' reports in a timely manner for AshaKiran's Board meetings
- Maintains an agency equipment inventory list
- Perform other duties as assigned that promote AshaKiran’s vision, mission, and best practices

- Demonstrated experience with electronic accounting and financial software (QuickBooks non-profit, preferred)
- Proficiency in Office365 Suite, especially Excel
Supportive
